Thanksgiving Cookies 2020

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, and cookies are one of my favorite hobbies, so November is a happy time of year for me!  2020 was a tough year for many of us, and my year was no exception.  But I still have so very much to be thankful for.

Gratitudes & Giveaways

In our house, we don’t wait for Thanksgiving to do gratitudes. We do them year-round. But there is something extra special about a day when everyone gives thanks. I love hearing from the kids what they are thankful for when they reflect on the year that has passed. They never cease to amaze me with their insight.

This year, I also did a cookie giveaway on my Facebook and Instagram pages.  I asked people to share their favorite holiday tradition, and my favorite received a box of Thanksgiving cookies.  Christy shared with us that every Thanksgiving “grandma would have a Christmas craft for us to work on. Still have all of those ornaments and decorations that she made, and at the age of 88 is still making.❤️” Her story inspired me to make some botanical/leaf cookies using one of my Christmas ornament cookie cutters, with a color palette that gives a nod to both Thanksgiving and Christmas cookies. 🦃🎄 Your grandma sounds like my kind of gal!

In 2020, I’m thankful for my health (though it’s been better, I’m still alive!), my family’s health, a stable job, a warm home, a full pantry, drinking water, toilets, a comfy bed, good neighbors, good friends, amazing teachers, our democracy, and long walks in the sunshine. What are you thankful for?
