I generally aim for 3-6 different cookie designs per event. But sometimes I forget that keeping it simple can be powerful, too. I only needed to mix a light pink and green for these mini heart cookies. Made by leftover icing from another project, I already had some dried royal icing flowers on hand. I learned that trick from the amazing Sweet Sugarbelle years ago.
You might notice that the white polka dots are somewhat raised from a rough-looking pink icing. This is what happens when you water down you flood icing too much. Not only was it thinned too much, but the water was probably not mixed in enough with the icing, giving it that rough texture when it dries.
